B.Sc (Agri) course in Govt Barjindra College Faridkot will start soon: Kultar Singh Sandhwan | Gurbani World

Chandigarh: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr. Kultar Singh Sandhwan today assured that B.Sc. (Agriculture) course will start soon in Govt Barjindra College Faridkot and necessary action in this regard will be completed soon.

 

Presiding over a meeting at the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Secretariat, held to discuss the resumption of B.Sc (Agriculture) course in Govt Barjindra College, Speaker S. Sandhwan along with Agriculture Minister S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian reviewed the progress with senior officers of Department of Agriculture and Higher Education, Punjabi University Patiala Vice Chancellor Prof. Arvind and officials of Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana.

 

S. Sandhwan said that Government College Faridkot is an important educational institution of the Malwa region, where B.Sc. (Agriculture) course was taught. He said that during the year 2019, the last batch of students took admissions in B.Sc. (Agriculture) in the college, which is currently in the final year of the course. He said that the closed agriculture course is being restarted to save the future of the students, desirous to further study in the agriculture sector.

 

Giving instructions to the concerned departments, S. Sandhwan asked that the recruitment of visiting professors, necessary equipment at labs etc. and fulfilment of other necessary requirements should be ensured to resume the admissions of agriculture course in the college from this session.

 

During the meeting, MLA Faridkot S. Gurdit Singh Sekhon, Special Chief Secretary Agriculture Mr. KAP Sinha, Principal Secretary Higher Education Ms. Jaspreet Talwar, Punjabi University Patiala Vice Chancellor Prof. Arvind, Dean College of Agriculture PAU Dr. Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Dr. Manav Inder Singh, Deputy Director Higher Education Dr. Ashwani Bhalla, Principal Barjindra College Mr. Rajesh Kumar and Dr. Narinderjit Singh Brar were present.
