Chandigarh, August 11: Minister of Social Security, Women and Child Development of Punjab Dr. Baljit Kaur emphasized on the need to create a unique sense of patriotism in children and said that it is very important to inform the children of the new generation about the history of their country’s independence, with this education, the children of the new generation can get information about the historical background of independence of their country.
The Cabinet Minister said that Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) with the special theme of ‘Independence Day’ organized to create a unique spirit of patriotism and early childhood education in various Anganwadi Centres of Punjab program was drawn up to celebrate the day. She said that Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Day was celebrated with the support of Meraki Foundation. She said that the purpose of this event was to underline the important role of early education, through which the values and history of our country have been made known.
Briefing about the day, which was celebrated with full enthusiasm by the young children, parents and Anganwadi workers, she said that during these events, various Anganwadi centres turned into centres of imaginative activities, in which children were engaged in cultural and creative activities that varied which represents culture, freedom fighters and famous landmarks. Its aim is to create a sense of patriotism and unity among the youth.
The Minister said that the day was an interesting one where children presented cultural performances depicting India’s rich heritage through songs, dances and skits. These performances reflect the hard work and dedication of Anganwadi workers.
Dr. Baljit Kaur emphasized the importance of inculcating the values of independence, unity and responsibility in children from an early age. The Minister also said that celebrating ECCE Day with a special theme of Independence Day is to nurture good citizens.
The Minister thanked the children, parents, Anganwadi workers and the entire ECCE team who participated in the ECCE Day with a special theme of Independence Day. She said that the department is striving to create a nurturing and encouraging environment in the Anganwadi centres so that the children can develop holistically.
