In order to impart quality medical treatment to the people of Sangrur district at their doorsteps, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday flagged off a mobile van to ensure free health check up of the patients.
The Chief Minister, after flagging off the van, said that the specially built van has been provided by ICICI foundation and will be manned by the staff of the health department. He said that this mobile van has been equipped with state of the art infrastructure to provide hi-end medical facilities to the people at their doorsteps. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the tests like BP, ECG, HIV and others can be easily done in this mobile van besides providing other treatment and diagnostic facilities to the people.
The Chief Minister expressed hope that this unique program will act as a catalyst to provide the quality health care and diagnostic services to the people at their doorsteps. He said that the state government has initiated several path breaking initiatives for imparting quality healthcare services to the people. Bhagwant Singh Mann envisioned that such mobile vans will revolutionize the health sector by offering free and quality mobile healthcare services to the people especially in the far flung areas of the rural sector by offering a direct access to the best health and diagnostic facilities.
Congratulating the district administration and the health department for this initiative, the Chief Minister said that such out of the box ideas are the need of hour for making our Punjab a healthy and vigorous state. He said that due to unawareness there was a general trend amongst the people especially in the rural sector to ignore or obscure the health related problems that leads them to a miserable condition. Emphasizing the need to provide health care to the rural people through such initiatives, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is the need of hour to save the precious lives of people.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister said that he will ever remain indebted to the residents of Dhuri assembly constituency for electing him as MLA thereby his elevation as the head of state. He reiterated that Dhuri will be developed as the model constituency across the state as a new era will be ushered from this land with the ultra modern health care and other basic facilities. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that no stone will be left unturned for ensuring the well being of people and the state in general and that of Dhuri segment in particular at all costs. He also announced that by next year canal water will reach in all the water channels of Dhuri by all means.
