Vigilance Bureau Arrests Patwari for accepting Rs 8,000 Bribe | Gurbani World

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB), during its ongoing campaign against corruption in the state, on Friday has apprehended revenue Patwari, Manish Kumar, a resident of Bajwa Colony, Gaunspura, tehsil Batala, in Gurdaspur district for accepting bribe of Rs 8,000.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the state VB said the above mentioned revenue official has been arrested after an inquiry of a complaint lodged by Shamsher Singh, a resident of village Hardochande in Gurdaspur on the Chief Minister Anti Corruption Action Line.
He further informed that during the investigation of the said complaint it was established that the accused had demanded Rs 10,000 for making entry of NOC issued by the Bank in revenue records of the complainant. The complainant has also alleged that the accused had earlier accepted Rs. 1,500 in cash and got transferred Rs 6,500 in two installments. Subsequently, accused Patwari has been arrested and a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered at VB police station Amritsar range. He would be produced in the competent court tomorrow and further investigation into this case was under progress, he said.
