Vigilance Arrests Assistant of Patwari for demanding Rs 10,000 Bribe | Gurbani World

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its anti-corruption campaign, on Friday arrested Sukhwinder Singh, an assistant cum driver of a revenue Patwari, posted at revenue halqua, Jodhpur Pakhar, Bathinda district for demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the VB said this case has been registered against the above said accused on the basis of a complaint lodged by Kewal Singh, a resident village Mansa Kalan in Bathinda district on the Chief Minister Anti Corruption Action Line.
Giving details he added that the complainant has has alleged in his complaint that he approached the halqua Patwari Gurcharn Singh where his driver has demanded Rs 10,000 as a bribe in lieu of issuing report regarding warrants for possession of his land. The complainant has recorded the entire conversation while the accused was demanding bribe money.
The spokesperson further added that during investigation of this complaint the allegations levelled by the complainant found to be correct and true that the above said accused had demanded Rs 10,000 from the complainant for the said motive. In this regard a case under prevention of corruption act has been registered against the above mentioned revenue official at VB police station Bathinda range. Further investigation into this case was under progress, he informed.
