Framer workshop and exhibition held on the topic “Meri Mati Mera Desh” with natural solutions to soil health problems

The Directorate of Research of Maharana Pratap Horticultural University, Karnal (MHU) organised a farmer workshop and exhibition on the topic “Meri Mati Mera Desh” with natural solutions to soil health problems, sponsored by the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
Vice-Chancellor, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Prof. B.R Kamboj participated in the workshop as the chief guest. Farmers from different districts of the state also participated in the workshop.
Prof. B.R Kamboj appreciated the work being done by MHU for the economic upliftment of farmers and said that the topic chosen by MHU is the need of the hour. If we do not conserve natural resources for future generations, how will our generations get water, clean air, and food? Therefore, he added that it is our responsibility to move forward by maintaining a balance in the ecosystem.
He stated that we have many challenges before us, which we must convert into opportunities and find solutions. Every basic need like food and water comes from the earth, so we must conserve it for our future generation’s needs, and by this, the ecosystem will also remain intact, he added
He said that we all have to come together to build a developed India so that foreign people also come to see India’s advanced agriculture. He told the farmers that “At this time there is a need to adopt a balanced approach, if we use natural resources like crop residues, cow dung etc., which are old farming practices, along with chemicals in an integrated way, then we will be able to conserve natural resources and the soil fertility”.
